Experience

I have five years of experience as a substitute teacher, and I'm licensed to teach at the elementary school level. As a sub, I've taught in many K - 12 classrooms, and I always enjoy my work. As a tutor, my specialty is elementary school level math, but I also enjoy all elementary school subjects. I am able to connect with students, and I break down concepts and problems so that they are attainable for my students. Once a student demonstrates that they have a good understanding, I then show them other techniques and tips to help them find answers more quickly. I'm familiar with Common Core and can teach students to demonstrate their work based on those expectations, but I'm also happy to show students how to find answers in the traditional way. When I have free time, I enjoy exercising and woodworking.
