I'm a tutor in the Murfreesboro, Tennessee area. I graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and obtained a TESOL certificate from the University of California, Berkeley. I continued my education at San Francisco State University, where I obtained a Master of Arts in English Literature and a post-secondary reading certificate. I've also completed my coursework for my Ph.D. in English Literature. I have several years of teaching experience. I spent time teaching English Composition, Research, and Argument at Middle Tennessee State University, ESL to international students, and taught business English classes. I'm also interested in international relations and foreign affairs, and while I was a teacher at Boston Latin School, I attended several lectures and seminars at Harvard University on cultural exchange, as well as international trade, defense, and security. I've also worked on long-term tutoring jobs with students visiting from Japan and Thailand.I tutor students in English, public speaking, reading, writing, literature, and grammar. I also enjoy working with ESL/ELL students, and offer test prep services to students preparing for the writing, critical reading, and literature portions of the ACT, SAT, and PSAT. In my free time, I enjoy gardening and playing chess. My interests include literature and films.
