B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology from UT Knoxville in 2002. Graduate teaching certification from MTSU in 2007.
Experience
6 years teaching experience at the high school level, certified and licensed biology and physical science teacher. Prior to teaching high school, I was a research assistant in biomedical research labs at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Though I earned extensive of lab experience and continued my passion for biology, lab work was not my game. I absolutely love teaching science and have truly found my niche. I have training in inquiry science teaching style, and have been awarded two grants for the development of science inquiry labs in my classroom. I was a partner teacher for the GK-12 program and worked closely with a graduate fellow in the classroom to develop open inquiry research projects. My strength is my ability to teach a variety of learning styles and levels. I have a passion for the life sciences and the scientific process. It is contagious!
